Big news from Berklee College of Music!!!!!
The Professional Performance Division is pleased to announce that Kenny Werner will be joining us this Fall as Artistic Director of the Performance Wellness Institute.
Kenny is well known for his book Effortless Mastery: Liberating the Master Musician Within which is for musicians who find themselves having reached a plateau in their development. Today it is one of the most widely read books on music and improvisation, helping thousands of musicians around the world unlock their talent and potential and is required reading for all ACI classes. Werner, a masterful jazz pianist in his own right, uses his own life story and experiences to explore the barriers to creativity and mastery of music, and in the process reveals that “Mastery is available to everyone”. Kenny will be offering master classes in improvisation and performance techniques in Berklee’s new facility at 1260 Boylston St over the course of 8 residencies throughout the fall semester. Contact the PPD Office for further information.

“These 2 videos are above and beyond anything I’ve done before. When I visit schools or even give private lessons, I’m always frustrated because I know that person or those persons are going to need more coaching, more support to walk that path. Now I can tell them to watch these videos to hear exactly what they heard from me, with demonstrations and all, so they don’t need to lose momentum on what they’re trying to do. It’s a great relief.” Kenny Werner
Effortless Mastery is also available as an ebook!Effortless Mastery on iTunes
Kenny is joined by Benjamin Koppel, Ferenc Nemeth, Lionel Louke and Miguel Zenon to create an incredible new album COALITION. Click here to order your copy through Amazon.
